ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Degenkolb provided structural design services for the new baggage handling system (BHS) installed as part of the reconstructed North and South Concourses at Salt Lake City International Airport. The baggage handling system was comprised of approximately six miles of conveyor in each concourse and consisted of both ground-mounted and overhead supported conveyors. Degenkolb also aided in the design of various catwalk and platform structures required for conveyor maintenance access. As part of this project, Degenkolb helped implement a standardized bracing approach to automate Vanderlande’s design process.
