Designed this 900,000 square-foot, acute care replacement hospital facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The seven-story hospital building houses nursing units, diagnostic and treatment areas, administrative and research facilities, and a cafeteria. In addition, the facility consists of two out-patient clinics, and administration building, a mental health building and a nursing home care unit. Also designed the central plant which holds backup generators, HVAC systems, cooling towers, radiators, etc. The Center Utility Plant was designed to contain stored energy, water tanks, and sewage tanks that would allow the facility to function for an additional 10 days on its own without outside utility sources. This $600 million project opened in August 2012.
