Degenkolb provided structural design services for a Cutaway Van Delivery Geopallet Mezzanine for GM. The mezzanine, totaling 25,000?square feet of checked plate and screenguard, was designed to move entire van bodies and included six stairs and four ladders.
Our team also performed the truss analysis and reinforcing design in-house. The plant maintained full production in advance of the construction shutdown and only permitted reinforcing installation on weekends. Fast-track engineering was essential to provide truss hanging loads before the mezzanine layout was finalized so truss reinforcing could progress efficiently.
