Provided services for the voluntary seismic upgrade of the 485,000 square-foot steel braced frame building with two stories plus basement. The upgrade utilized buckling restrained braces to replace the deficient concentric braces. Nonlinear time history analysis was used to maximize strength of existing elements thereby substantially reducing upgrade cost. The building was seismically upgraded to improve life safety for the building occupants with minimal disruption.
