Degenkolb has 85+ years of experience delivering safe and resilient buildings for our communities. We believe it is our responsibility to provide a safe, livable future for generations to come, and doing our part to mitigate climate change is part of that. Buildings represent approximately 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions so there is a tremendous opportunity to make a meaningful, lasting impact.

Embodied carbon is all the greenhouse gas emissions associated with raw material extraction, transportation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, and disposal of the materials that make up our buildings. Our goal, aligned with SE2050, is to eliminate embodied carbon from our structures by 2050. Our philosophy for embodied carbon reduction centers around the idea that the greatest opportunity for reduction occurs early in the project.
