St. Mary’s Cement Facility

WHAT WE DID

Using strand jacks on a temporary tower structure to install a 450 ton kiln section.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Designed the temporary support structure, temporary foundations, and lateral transport system necessary to lift the 452 ton, 158-foot long rotary kiln section 70 feet in the air, move it 33 feet, and precisely lower it 40 feet onto its permanent supports.

This project was completed as Ruby + Associates prior to November 2023. The project experience is included to represent the breadth of expertise of Degenkolb Engineers in the Midwest region.
