Degenkolb worked closely with the steel fabricator and erection team to develop an alternate erection plan that resulted in some of the largest steel assembly lifts in North American history. This innovative solution used portions of the roof trusses as supporting structures for strand jack lifting equipment. In 2003, Degenkolb was awarded Eminent Conceptor from ACEC/M – MSPE Engineering Excellence Awards, as well as the Steel Systems Excellence Award from GLFEA/MSPE/SEAMi for our work on this project.
