Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake that rocked the San Francisco Bay Area on October 17, 1989.

Back in ’89, Degenkolb Engineers was just a small, 30-person firm with one office in San Francisco. Three decades on, much has changed across the firm, the industry, and the Bay, but the effects of the historic temblor have endured.
