Congratulations to January New Hires and Promotions
January Promotions
Anuj Bansal, Senior Principal, Los Angeles. Healthcare.
With 28 years of experience, Anuj has been an integral leader of Degenkolb’s Los Angeles team, working in the Los Angeles office for nearly 14 years and delivering the most cost-effective and technologically sound solutions for new design and seismic retrofit projects. Fun Fact: His creativity extends to outerwear: Anuj was the first place winner of the Los Angeles office’s 2016 Holiday Sweater Contest.
David Gonzalez, Principal, San Diego. Federal.
David Gonzalez rejoins Degenkolb in the San Diego office. He spent many years in the Seattle office and relocated to San Diego almost three years ago. One of David’s desires is to develop meaningful client relationships to help them solve their problems. He still holds ties to the Pacific Northwest by his involvement with the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute – Washington Chapter. David has performed several post-earthquake reconnaissance trips, with Mexico being his most recent one in September 2017. He believes in applying the lessons learned from those events to his day-to-day practice.
Kamalpreet Kalsi, Associate, Los Angeles. Healthcare.
Since 2008, Kamal has excelled in engineering and technical expertise, including the design of new structures; seismic evaluation/upgrade of existing structures; modeling and analysis of complex structures; and time history analyses. Kamal strongly believes clear communication with the client and teamwork is the recipe of success. Little known fact: He loves riding his motorcycle and oil painting.
Tim Nelson, Associate Principal, Bay Area. Construction Means and Methods Expert.
Tim loves to help contractors navigate tricky projects. Working extensively within the firm’s Construction Means and Methods practice, Tim has developed a portfolio that includes complex excavation shoring, building underpinning, and steel erection engineering up and down the West Coast. Tim brings an enthusiastic, hands-on approach to his projects with a focus on responsiveness and high-level collaboration across both the design and construction teams. He was recently selected by Engineering News-Record as a 2017 Top Young Professional in California.
Ray Pugliesi, Senior Principal, Bay Area. Healthcare and Higher Education.
Ray will celebrate his 25th Degenkolb anniversary later this year. He began his career at a large A/E firm. With patience and determination, Ray is known for shepherding critical projects through stringent review processes such as the OSHPD system with unmatched effectiveness. At Degenkolb, Ray currently serves on the Board of Directors and is a mentor for engineers beginning to build practices. Ray is a Bay Area native, UC Berkeley alum (Go Bears!), and a heavy-metal music fan.

He will be managing several prime projects. “It is exciting to have someone in this role with the kind of background and qualifications that Myron brings and we hope to learn and further build this service with his help,” noted Senior Principal, Anuj Bansal.
