Stanford University Peterson Hall, the d. school, Adaptive Reuse

Degenkolb designed seismic renovation of a 42,000 square feet, 1905 wood and sandstone building for use as an engineering classroom facility. Major renovation elements included removal and reconstruction of the courtyard infill, removal and reconstruction of the first and second floor of the South Wing, and removal of the third floor and rebuilding the original trusses. In addition, modifications were made to existing structural elements including columns, footings, slabs and walls.
