As the prime consultant, Degenkolb led a multi-disciplinary team of consultants for the seismic upgrade of this 70,000 square-foot earthquake-damaged, two-story, welded steel moment frame building. The upgrade scheme uses steel plate shear walls and nonlinear analysis to satisfy performance objectives for a SPC5 building. The nonstructural components were upgraded to satisfy NPC4 criteria.
