Degenkolb worked with the city to help craft a seismic ordinance program that will seismically evaluate and possibly strengthen three critically vulnerable building types in a proactive time frame.

The City of Pasadena is currently in the process of developing a Wood Soft Story Seismic Retrofit Ordinance. Degenkolb is providing expertise in examining a preliminary soft-story survey as well as assisting in developing of the ordinance language. 

Performed a survey of city buildings to identify potential seismically vulnerable structures including non-ductile concrete and pre-Northridge steel moment frame buildings.

Degenkolb offers a record of successful development and implementation of corporate seismic programs for prominent technology, life sciences, food and beverage, financial, and manufacturing companies.

Seismic Inventory Programs

Degenkolb has extensive experience in working on large building inventories and creating detailed databases that also provide decision-makers with “big picture information.” Earthquake engineering consulting services to support the company objectives relative to regional and global seismic risk. Services include the development of seismic standards for new and existing buildings for various uses and occupancies, pre-purchase and pre-lease investigations, peer review and post-earthquake response and training.
