Education:
B.S., Civil Engineering, West Virginia University
M.S., Structural Engineering, University of California, San Diego
Why did you go into structural engineering?
As a kid, I was constantly building things: teepees in the backyard, dams in the creek, or ramps for my bike. Over time, I gravitated towards math and physics in high school, and structural engineering seemed like the best application for my interests and abilities in the built environment.
Question of the Day
What were you going to be when you grew up?
Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, I was enamored with agriculture and the heavy machinery used to harvest the miles of corn. I also thought the farm animals were awesome, so I wanted to be a farmer.
