I have always been drawn to the built structures around me: buildings, towers, and bridges. I’ve always been interested in understanding WHY structures stand up. I’m also interested in the impact that the built environment has on all of our lives, every day. I enjoy a career with Degenkolb because the firm is uniquely positioned with an eye to the past, as well as a vision for the future. Many of Degenkolb’s practice areas specialize in caring for a legacy of historic buildings in our communities. This work provides a vantage point to explore how the history of construction and building code development intersects with our shared heritage. In addition to an uncommon vantage point to the past, Degenkolb also eagerly looks forward – driving the development of new technologies and automations to usher in the next eras of structural engineering design. These kinds of proactive investments allow us to better serve building occupants, clients, and neighborhoods.
