I was curious about the inner workings of our built world and helping others improve the safety and resilience of our communities.

Little Known Fact

I once swam in the Amazon River while studying abroad in Peru. Luckily, no hordes of piranhas joined—but a few pink dolphins did stop by to say "hello."
