Education

Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2017) – University of Illinois

M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2012) – University of Illinois

B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (2011) – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

Why did you go into Engineering?

My best subject in high school was math. In my junior year, I took an architectural drawing course that I really enjoyed. The pairing of those two—combined with recommendations from my teachers—was what got me interested in structural engineering.

Little known fact

I’m a huge baseball fan. I went to 16! Mariners games this past year (2017 — my first year in Seattle)———they only won 6 of those games. Goal for 2018: go to more games, and see more wins!

Question of the Day

What’s your favorite way to get to work?

I take the link light rail in to work. It’s great because I live right near a station and Safeco Field is at a stop between the office and my apartment. During baseball season, I usually stop by on the way home and catch a game once or twice a week… sometimes more.
