Within construction engineering, it’s the people. I’ve come to understand over my career that it’s more than math equations, analysis models, or developing solutions. It’s knowing that you are part of an industry and it’s the people that you work with that drive the industry. Mentors, clients, colleagues, direct reports, professional organizations, consultants, you name it; we’re all working towards that common goal of a successful project that furthers the industry. Along the way there will be many ups and downs, but for me the best part is working with like-minded people that enjoy what we do.
