B.S., Civil Engineering, University of California, Los Angeles
Why did you go into structural engineering?
Growing up in the Bay Area, I had always had a fascination with the city skyline and many bridges that cross the bay. This continued through my childhood and I always knew I wanted to be designing buildings. I very quickly discovered that I had little artistic ability but was great at math and so the field of structural engineering became the right choice for me. I still look up at all the construction happening in the city on my way into work every morning.
Little Known Fact
I played trumpet in the UCLA marching band during my freshman year of college.
