Little Known Fact:
I was fortunate to grow up in Hawaii where most people vacation but where I call “home.” Although I grew up in Hawaii I was born in the now demolished Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center which Degenkolb designed the re-build.
Understanding clients’ desires and constraints and creating a sound structural solution to work within those is what I strive for.
Dependable and conscientious
Chocolate chip cookies…can’t pass them up
Favorite Project Story:
Earthquake reconnaissance is a big part of Degenkolb’s tradition and culture. I traveled to New Zealand with a team of 5 others after the Christchurch earthquake. It was eye opening from a learning perspective, and the team synergy was amazing. The most memorable part of the trip for me was our last night of blogging (confession – after a lot of wine), when reading back our blog for the night, Lucie, John and I could not stop hysterically laughing about how we phrased certain engineering terms (yes, structural engineering humor). I think you had to be there.
Playing with my daughter, traveling, camping, hiking, skiing, scrapbooking….umm, but yes most of them have taken a back seat to the first listed item.
